And Yet Another Owl

I often hear the crows make a racket as they fly over to begin their day, but this morning there was an intensity to the crow racket – the sort of noise crows make when they are mobbing an owl. I had seen a Barred Owl last week and I heard three Great Horned Owls about three nights ago so I was hoping to see an owl as I wandered down the hill to investigate the noise. The victim of all that crow attention was a Great Horned Owl, perched well back in the branches of a big tree. The owl had moved to a perch in the open when I went down again this afternoon.
Of course I took some photos and watched this beautiful owl for quite a while. Tonight it will be the crows that may suffer harassment as the owl hunts in the night. What goes around comes around.
