A Visit to Old Friends – and Winter!

April 17, 2015

I recently celebrated our birthdays with some great friends. There were also some great opportunities to watch mating vultures, geese building nests, displaying Long-tailed Ducks and a variety of other eastern birds and wildlife. It is interesting that people are definitely not impressed with a raccoon sighting near Toronto! Despite an early morning snow fall and the ice and wind on Lake Ontario, it was evident that spring was on its way.

I loved my visit and will miss my old friends, but as the plane landed in Castlegar and I peeled off layers of coats and sweaters, I was glad to be home. Spring is in charge here!

Enjoy the photos!

As always, your photos and comments are amazing. I have never seen a long necked duck, or a white breasted nuthatch before – so beautiful. I did manage tho to feed a red winged blackbird out of my hand at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary and also a sandhill crane today. Enjoy all of your photos – thanks

    • The Reifel Refuge is a great spot – and thanks for your comments about my site. I am glad you enjoy the photos!
