The Merry Month of May: Sunning, Courting and Bright Bright Blooming

May 21, 2014

It is the merry merry month of May. And May, with all its “goings on” may have been Shakespeare’s favourite month.  We here in the Kootenays could forgiven for believing we have stumbled upon the magical forest of Arcadia. Spring has given us a green, green world filled with brilliant colour and courting creatures. Nest-building, courting, sunning in the gorgeous spring sun and blooming abound.  One expects the blooming of flowers, but the male hummingbirds also “bloom” in their full courtship brilliance.

Ah spring.  “When birds do sing, hey ring a ding ding, Sweet lovers love the spring.”
