Spring – and the Varied Thrushes – are back!
Today was the first official day of spring and two Varied Thrushes visited my yard. Varied Thrushes seem to specialize in being secretive, but this pair was drawn into the open today. They flew off at any noise or movement but eventually the male came close enough for me to take some photos. Hearing Varied Thrushes is a true gift of spring – getting to watch them feed in the warm sun was wonderful. Happy spring!
