Summer, Fledgling Winter Wrens…and Mosquitoes!

August 6, 2013

Wow! July is over and August is already well underway. Summer always flies by. I swear that there is less time in the two months of summer than in one week of November!

But summer is still here along with all the wildlife, sun and ….mosquitoes. I spotted two fledgling Winter Wrens and their parents at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park this week and watched them for a while. Wrens like the darker, cooler thickets where they are hard to find, hard to see and hard to photograph! Mosquitoes too like the dark cooler thickets and I had the pleasure of keeping their company too.

I hope you enjoy these photos of the Winter Wrens. I have heard them frequently since these photos were taken and all are still doing well. Enjoy!
