Even More Dippers – Water Ouzels

June 13, 2013

This is my third post on the amazing American Dipper, also known as the Water Ouzel. I really do find them amazing! I was visiting Kokanee Creek Provincial Park yesterday and went to see what I could find on the creek running through the park. I heard a loud “cheeping” ( not adequate to describe the call) and when I investigated I found a fluffy little American Dipper chasing an adult Dipper. The adult kept moving down the stream to find food to feed the noisy little fledgling. I was lucky enough to capture how the water flows over the bird as it looks under water for food.

I hope you enjoy the photos – I certainly enjoyed watching these two birds yesterday.
