And More Dippers: Fledglings!

May 30, 2013

I returned to Cottonwood Falls yesterday to visit the Dippers and found – Dipper fledglings! Very hungry and demanding fledglings
I was lucky enough to get some photos of them begging. The waterfall was roaring but both parents and young plunged fearlessly into the torrent – popping up seconds later to perch safely on shore. Dippers are truly amazing!

  1. Such cute little nuggets! I love the photo, “competing for food.”

  2. Me too! I feel for the parents of the sparrows that recently hatched in our backyard. There are at least eight, maybe more. The mother is busy flying from our feeder to the privet bushes filling all of the open mouths…so fun to watch!
